When Dr. Lunsford chose the name Legacy Eyecare for her practice, it wasn't just a name - it was a reflection of her family's century-long dedication to vision care. Optometry, she likes to say, "runs in her blood."
The story begins with her great-great-grandfather Moses Franklin Denman, who opened a jewelry store in Stuttgart, AR in 1900. In those days, jewelers often fitted glasses, planting the seed of a family legacy. Moses' sons Floyd and Morgan carried on the tradition, with Floyd taking over the family jewelry store and Morgan becoming an optometrist in 1916.
The legacy continued through the generations. After surviving a WWII POW camp, Dr. Max Denman (Dr. Lunsford's grandfather) returned to Stuttgart to practice optometry. Now, Dr. Lunsford proudly carries the torch.
The Legacy Eyecare logo features a diamond pupil, a nod to her family of jewelers and a symbol of the shining legacy she upholds.
